In 2022, Nicor Gas committed an additional $5 million to The Salvation Army North and Central Illinois Division's Shield of Caring program to support customers struggling to pay their monthly natural gas bill or needing assistance with other basic necessities. During the first program year, the charitable organization distributed $1.75 million in grants to support 8,000 customers with bill payment assistance and 9,500 families received basic needs support including warm winter coats, food boxes

Since 2014, Nicor Gas has replaced nearly 1,300 miles of pipeline and moved over 100,000 natural gas meters from inside homes and businesses to outside as we upgrade infrastructure across our service territory. The Nicor Gas Career Academy is now accepting applications for its ninth cohort!
