During their spring break, a group of students from Northeastern Illinois University traveled to the Cherokee Nation Reservation to volunteer with the new Cherokee Nation Gadugi Corps. ❤️ These students joined forces with Cherokee Nation Community and Cultural Outreach to help elders and others in the community, such as cleaning up yards and building ramps. They were also given an introduction to Cherokee culture and learned how to make traditional Cherokee baskets with District 8 Councilor Code
