Apply online from July 1 through Sept 30 for one of five artist-in-residence opportunities at Acadia National Park in 2025. Sue Charles, who participated in 2018, says she was first drawn to apply as a way to give something back to the park for all its work to conserve a special landscape. “It’s like everywhere you look, there’s paintings. And there’s really no end to it. I don’t think you would ever be able to not have an idea of something to paint up here.” Learn more at go.nps.gov/AcadiaArt V

An extra note: Trails like the Beehive that tend to be challenging in summer tend to be highly ill-advised for visitors to climb in fall and winter.) TJ Martinez, of Nashville, TN, shares video of his wife during a wedding anniversary visit to Acadia in June 2022. "Amanda has a slight fear of heights, and took some convincing, but

That means there may be about a million people coming to Acadia each year who need some form of accommodation related to mobility, cognition, hearing, or vision impairments. Thanks to the Diana Davis Spencer Foundation and Friends of Acadia, a wheelchair accessible carriage is available for tours of the park's historic carriage roads. Are you planning a visit to Acadia National Park? Before you get here, it's important to know the difference between an entrance pass for the whole park, and a vehicle reservation just to drive up to the summit of Cadillac Mountain. You can buy both before you leave home at Recreation.gov. (Still photo courtesy of visitor Seth Baker. Used with permission.) This summer, the Bubbles Divide Trail got a makeover! In 2024 and 2025, our trail crew set more than 300 granite steps into place along the Bubbles Divide Trail, connecting Jordan Pond Path and the Bubbles Trail.
