The Sandra Bullock-Nicole Kidman reteam 'Practical Magic 2' is off to a great start with $3.5M-$4M in previews at the domestic box office.
After six weeks, the reign of "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" atop the box office charts has come to an end as Warner Bros./Alcon's "Practical Magic 2" takes No. 1 on the first post-summer weekend. But the legacyquel starring Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock has work to do to ease Warner Bros.
Overall box-office revenue for the United States and Canada totaled an estimated $83.4 million from Friday through Sunday. That was down 11.3% from the prior weekend and 44.4% from the comparable period last year, when Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle opened with a blockbuster $70.6 million.
Practical Magic 2' is expected to bow to $58M-$63M and get the fall box office underway after a record summer $4.76B domestic.
