The Kansas City Royals opted to take Van Dam, drafting him in the ninth round (278th overall). Van Dam appeared in three games this May and picked up four strikeouts in eight innings. In 2022, Van Dam was part of a sectional championship team with Cranford, reaching the Group 3 state finals.

FARGO — North Dakota State baseball recruit Tyson Moran was selected in the 13th round (398th overall) of the 2025 MLB Draft by the Kansas City Royals on Monday night. Moran, from Wingham, Ontario, plays infield for the Great Lake Canadians elite amateur program out of London, Ontario.
