Dow Jones futures: Nasdaq, S&P 500 hold; Robinhood, SanDisk, AMD, Moderna surge into buy areas
The stock market showed choppy, mixed weekly action. But Robinhood, Sandisk, AMD and Moderna rallied into buy areas.
As of 4:00 a.m. ET, Nasdaq futures rose 0.6%, while S&P 500 futures gained 0.3%, and Dow and Russell 2000 futures rose 0.2%. However, on Stocktwits, retail sentiment for the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY), an exchange-traded fund that tracks the S&P 500 Index, and Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ), which tracks the Nasdaq-100 Index, has remained 'bearish.'
Stocks were on track to open higher on Thursday as oil prices retreated and investors got over the worst of their worries about the Federal Reserve’s fight against inflation. S&P 500 futures advanced 1.
The stock market retreated after the Federal Reserve raised interest rates for the first time since 2023, signaled one more hike by year-end and Fed chief Kevin Warsh stressed inflation was "too high.

Dow futures rose about 367 points, or 0.7%, while S&P 500 futures gained roughly 0.8% and Nasdaq 100 futures climbed close to 1%. The rebound followed Wednesday’s weaker close, when stocks initially struggled with the Fed’s hawkish message.
Stocks were on track to open lower on Tuesday as investors fretted about the disruption of oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures slumped 479 points, or 0.9%.
