Ed Sheeran is set to take the stage – possibly without an opening act – Saturday night at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field, his first stop since Macklemore was dropped from the tour’s US dates over his pro-Palestinian remarks onstage, leading Sheeran’s other opening acts to resign.

Sheeran’s backing band, Beoga, announced their departure due to “the silencing of Macklemore by Zionist lobbies.”

Four of Ed Sheeran's opening acts have quit his tour following Macklemore's firing over his "Free Palestine" speech.

Finneas wrote that "artists must not be silenced when they speak up for the oppressed," adding, "I stand with Palestine and its people."

The singer made addressed the audience after his support acts, including Finneas and Lukas Graham, withdrew from his tour.
