Donald Trump went after Stephen Colbert, following CBS's announcement that he will vacate the hosting seat for "The Late Show."
President Donald Trump is gloating over CBS’s decision to cancel The Late Show. The abrupt cancellation, which blindsided its host, Stephen Colbert, has been described as a win for Trump, who has been the most frequent subject of the show’s late-night jokes and criticism in recent years.
Plus, the Republican-led House passed a $9 billion package that includes spending cuts to NPR and PBS, as well as foreign aid. Donald Trump is expected to sign the measure.
“I absolutely love that Colbert got fired,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Friday morning. “His talent was even less than his ratings. I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next. Has even less talent than Colbert! [Fox News late night host] Greg Gutfeld is better than all of them combined, including the Moron on NBC who ruined the once great Tonight Show.”
