The Cleveland Guardians lacked an early offensive rhythm, all while the Chicago White Sox's lineup beat down on starting pitcher Gavin Williams. A high pitch count, long at-bats and sticky situations pushed Williams off the mound early.

The White Sox left fielder misplayed a fly ball at the worst moment on Tuesday night, aiding Brayan Rocchio’s walk-off double in a 7-6 Guardians win as the two rivals fight for the AL Central title. Rocchio came to the plate with two outs and runners on second and third with the Guardians trailing 6-5 in the ninth inning.

Rocchio delivered a two-run double with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning Tuesday, giving the Cleveland Guardians a dramatic 7-6 victory. The comeback pulled Cleveland within one-half game of first-place Chicago. With fewer than two weeks remaining, the division race has become almost impossible to separate.
