The NCAA Division III Football Committee announced Sunday the field of 40 teams for the 2025 NCAA Division III Football Championship. Teams were selected based on conference results and NCAA Power Index (NPI).

With one week remaining, almost every conference title game spot is still up for grabs across the FBS. Whether the scenarios are complicated (looking at you, ACC, MAC and Mountain West) or simple (thank you, Sun Belt and Conference USA), there’s a lot left to play for.

Broadcast partner ESPN is working with the CFP to move its original deadline of Dec. 1 to late January, a source said. The CFP's 10 conference commissioners and Notre Dame's athletics director have been in a stalemate regarding the format of the CFP, which could expand from 12 teams to as many as 24 in the near future.
