Panthers' Tre'von Moehrig hit with one-game NFL suspension for low blow on 49ers' Jauan Jennings
After Monday's game, a 20-9 49ers win, Jennings chased down Moehrig and struck him with a closed fist. Jennings' actions were retaliatory, with a replay later revealing that Moehrig landed an uppercut to Jennings' groin during the game.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Jennings will not be suspended, though his actions on Monday night are still subject to a possible fine. Jennings and the 49ers are scheduled to next take the field in Cleveland on Sunday, with a 10 a.m. kickoff on CBS against the Browns.
Moehrig punched Jennings in the groin after a play, constituting a clear violation of Rule 12, Section 3, Article 1, which the NFL cited as applying to “any act which is contrary to the generally understood principles of sportsmanship,” including “throwing a punch, or a forearm, or kicking at an opponent.”
The 2025 season slate features a record seven International Series games: Three in London, and one game apiece in Berlin; Dublin, Ireland; Madrid, Spain; and São Paulo, Brazil. The NFL is playing games in Dublin and Madrid for the first time this season.
