Hannah Einbinder, Kehlani, Roger Waters and other celebrities are reacting to the controversy of Macklemore's removal from Ed Sheeran's Loop Tour.

Just days before Ed Sheeran’s concert on Friday at Lincoln Financial Field, rapper Macklemore was dropped over pro-Palestine comments. Following that, several of Sheeran’s supporting acts have quit in support of Macklemore.

Macklemore draws support from artists, activists, and public figures Kehlani, Zara Larsson, Ms. Rachel, and more amid Ed Sheeran tour controversy.

On a Sept. 4 stop on the Loop Tour at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, Macklemore (real name Benjamin Haggerty) wore a kaffiyeh around his neck while performing his pro-Palestinian protest song "Hind's Fall," which condemns Israel's military actions in Gaza.

Ed Sheeran’s tour of North and South America has been roiled by the decision this week to drop Macklemore as an opener because of the rapper’s onstage pro-Palestinian comments. Since then, all of Sheeran’s other supporting acts have dropped out, including a group that plays with Sheeran during part of the show.

Music industry insiders say artists who can fill stadiums typically have significant control over their tours, raising questions about Ed Sheeran’s claim that he had no say in Macklemore being dropped from his Loop Tour.
