The New York Yankees announced Sunday that former top prospect Jesús Montero has died at the age of 35-years-old.

Montero was MLB’s No. 9 prospect in 2011, the season in which he made his big-league debut with the Yankees as a 21-year-old.

Jesús Montero began his career with the Yankees and hit a pair of home runs in his fourth game with the ball club in 2011.
