North Carolina is set to experience an Arctic blast this weekend, bringing frigid temperatures, gusty winds, and potential snow or ice.

At 1:09 p.m. on Sunday, the NWS Newport/Morehead City NC issued a cold weather advisory valid from 10 p.m. until Monday 9 a.m. The advisory is for Mainland Dare, Mainland Hyde and Ocracoke Island as well as Washington and Tyrrell counties.
