Gardaí (Irish police) have asked the army to help remove vehicles blocking roads during fuel protests in the Republic of Ireland. The Irish Minister for Justice Jim O'Callaghan said the military will be deployed to ease blockage to "critical infrastructure".
Protesters have raised concerns about high fuel prices caused by the U.S. and Israel's ongoing war with Iran.
Gardaí have removed a tractor and digger from the road, clearing the village of Whitegate, reports Southern Correspondent Barry Roche. The access road to the oil refinery itself remains blocked by a number of trucks and will likely be the next point of focus for authorities.
Passengers travelling to or from Dublin Airport are being advised to allow extra time for their journeys as protests over high fuel prices in Ireland continue into a fourth day.
