Last fall Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported that Apple was looking to introduce a new low-cost MacBook that could compete with premium Chromebooks and mid-range Windows laptops. Now he says those entry-level MacBooks could launch in March, which means it’s highly likely that they’ll be one of the things that Apple unveils at its next event.
The often-rumored budget MacBook is still expected to arrive at some point in the first half of 2026, as Apple prepares to compete directly with Chromebooks.
