President Trump on Wednesday said he believed the U.S. was close to securing a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.

During their meeting, Netanyahu gave Trump a letter that the Israeli prime minister said he had used to nominate the U.S. president for the Nobel Peace Prize. Trump, appearing pleased by the gesture,

President Trump vowed to impose 50% tariffs on imports from Brazil, citing a "witch hunt" of Brazil's former president.

Trump on April 2 proposed a 20% tariff for EU goods and then threatened to raise that to 50% after negotiations did not move as fast as he would have liked, only to return to the 10% baseline. The EU has 27 member states, including France, Germany, Italy and Spain.

In letters so far to 14 countries, including smaller exporters to the United States such as Serbia, Thailand and Tunisia, Trump hinted at opportunities for additional negotiations, even while warning that reprisals would draw a like-for-like response.

The U.S. Supreme Court cleared the way on Tuesday for President Donald Trump's administration to resume carrying out mass job cuts and the restructuring of agencies, elements of his campaign to downsize and reshape the federal government.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday allowed the Trump administration to move forward with plans to downsize the federal workforce through layoffs, overturning lower courts' decisions to halt the reductions at 21 agencies.
