Taylor Swift managed to be in two places at once on Monday night, attending Travis Kelce’s season opener and making a special appearance at the 2026 Emmys. Swift appeared alongside friend Mariska Hargitay in a prerecorded segment that played as the Law & Order: SVU hosted the show.
Emmys host Mariska Hargitay, who plays Olivia Benson on “Law & Order: SVU,” ultimately determined that Swift wouldn’t attend the Emmys because her husband, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, had a game against the Denver Broncos that night.

Portraying a “rookie” on the police force, Swift joined longtime friend and Emmys host Mariska Hargitay for a Law and Order: SVU -themed skit, aired during the award show. The actor, in character as Olivia Benson, put her team to work trying to crack the biggest question of the night: Would Swift be making an appearance at the Emmys?
