Pope Leo XIV told reporters they were welcome to cover him, as he responded to the Trump administration’s attempt to bar U.S. media from the White House and affirmed the importance of journalists covering public figures.

When asked by a reporter Friday if he had any influence over Chicago White Sox’s postseason advancement, Pope Leo wouldn’t say.

Asked about the Trump administration’s restrictions on journalists, Leo told reporters accompanying him on a flight to France that they were “all welcome.”
