Nate Sheppard is becoming the best running back in college football.

Sheppard logged 23 rushes for 154 yards and two touchdowns and caught their only target for two yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 35-7 win over Stanford. Sheppard scored another three touchdowns Saturday as Duke cruised to an easy blowout win over Stanford to move to 3-0.

Duke running back Nate Sheppard rushed for a career high against Tulane. He credited the Green Wave's smack talk ahead of the contest for motivation.

Duke's star running back can really make a name for himself in Week 2.

Through the first three games of the season, Sheppard has 528 rushing yards which leads all running backs so far. He also has five rushing touchdowns which is tied for seventh. At 6.4 yards per carry, Sheppard has been a force so far and Duke's biggest weapon. He also has opponents keying in on him.
