ANN ARBOR — Undoubtedly, through two games, Michigan’s strength is its defense, and the Wolverines will rely on that as the offense, often noted for its youth, works to establish equal footing through the long regular season.

The Michigan State Spartans moved to 2-0 on the season after topping Eastern Michigan Saturday afternoon in East Lansing, 35-7. Led by 258 rushing yards — the bulk coming in the second half — the Spartans ran over the Eagles after a slow start.
