Seven-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton has stated that he doesn't want any elements from the current SF25 F1 car to be carried forward to the 2026 car. Hamilton suggested that Ferrari should start fresh to develop the new car after a disappointing home race at Silverstone.

Hamilton has had a tough 2025 F1 season so far, and though Silverstone was better for the Briton, he’s still far from satisfied

The most famous example of this last season came during Daniel Ricciardo's final F1 race, when the Australian finished last but claimed the fastest lap on the final lap of the Singapore GP, taking the extra point away from Norris and helping Verstappen's 2024 title bid.
