The Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed the helicopter that crashed near the site of an SUV-Metro bus collision was from a television station.
The KNBC-TV helicopter went down onto an industrial property in Chatsworth while providing live coverage of a collision between an SUV and a Metro bus; the LAFD reported three people dead at the scene and one person taken to hospital.
At about 5 p.m., a collision involving a Metro bus and SUV at an intersection killed at least two people and left six hospitalized. The SUV -- its driver was later arrested on suspicion of murder -- ended up partially inside the bus as firefighter-paramedics worked tirelessly to free trapped victims.
