Andy Green is doing something unique with a hostile New York Mets fanbase.

There has been speculation that interim manager Andy Green could be the New York Mets' next General Manager. However, that idea sounds better on paper than it does in practice.

Andy Green, and Sean Manaea reacted to the home crowd cheering for Pete Alonso and the Orioles during portions of the game. Kodai Senga talked about giving up Pete Alonso's 300th home run in the ninth inning.

Andy Green seems set on keeping the interim tag on his managerial role. And even as the Mets continue to play well with Green in the dugout, both he and the organization are prepared for him to go back to the front office in the offseason,

Friday marked the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. That same day, the New York Mets began a Subway Series against the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium. Before the game, interim manager Andy Green spoke about the significance of both New York teams playing together that day.

This is a season that no one with the New York Mets would’ve envisioned. Almost right from the outset, they were a mess, and they haven’t been in the playoff picture down the stretch at all despite having an incredibly expensive roster that featured a host of changes in the offseason.

The New York Mets will be in the market for a manager this summer. A very well respected former manager is interested and could be the right hire.
